Abstract:

Rural areas may contribute to tourism development. Through the rural tourism activities, the natural and human potential of the villages is used and the way of life of the communities in the areas concerned may be enhanced. In this paper, the cultural tourism consumption models specific to the rural area at national and European level are discussed. The rural area is constantly changing, without losing identity and disappearing. Rural communities have their own dynamic, maintaining interdependence links with the urban areas.
